A few new things to blog about – including one I forgot to mention earlier!

First up, a new casual komon – available in individual colours or as a fatpack of all three:

The first of the March kanzashi are in store now. I say first – I’m hoping to add another design, but we’ll see how that goes! For now we have nanohana for both junior and senior maiko and botan for seniors.

I’ve been asked a couple of times if I planned to do less formal kimono. Well the answer is yes – and here is the first of them! This design comes in three different colours, with a fat pack also available.

The 50% sale has come to an end, in its place a new main store and a new range – including kimono, kanzashi, hair and skins. I’ve set out a free gift for anyone visiting the store this week – you can find it on the counter just inside the door.

Flower & Willow is now having a half price sale! All kimono and kanzashi have been knocked down to half price – and once the sale ends they will all be retired. Some of the designs will see a new lease of life, albeit with noticable differences, while some will be forever consigned to history.

The sale will run until the new main branch of Flower & Willow is ready to open (hopefully soon!), which will also mark the launch of a brand new line of kimono, kanzashi, hair and skins.

A while ago I was approached by Ballet Pixelle (formerly Second Life Ballet) and asked if I would mind providing some costumes for its upcoming production. Of course, as a lover of the arts and former ballet student myself I was only too happy to do so.

Well, that ballet – Shuzenji – is set to have its first public performance tomorrow (June 4) and while I was unable to attend the premier, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to catch a performance while it’s running at the theatre!

I’ve been away from Second Life for a while, which is why I managed to completely miss out on April. I hope you can forgive me though and to make amends, here is the May kanzashi (slightly late I know… ). In the month of May these beautiful wisteria decorations are popular for both junior and senior maiko. My version features delicate pink and purple blooms and tiny little silver butterflies – on springs, though you’ll have to just imagine them bouncing as you walk or dance.

In this picture, taken at Little Yoshiwara hanamachi, I’m wearing one of the new kimono I have been working on. You’ll notice, or at least I hope you will, that the collar has been remade and is now scripted to change colour as appropriate for junior maiko, senior maiko or geisha.

The back features a jade kanoko dome with a silver prim butterfly on it, and the whole thing costs $L150 including the ogi (that’s the fan shaped decoration I’m wearing at my right temple)

Incidentally, I am hoping to open a new satellite store at Little Yoshiwara soon and the build is well worth the visit.
